Oothukadu Venkata Kavi
Established now as a predecessor to the Musical Trinity, very little is still known about this genius who lived as a recluse. Only a few of his compositions have seen the light of the day and his songs have not received the recognition due to them. His songs are joyful and feature the flute, the peacock feather, curds and butter and the gopis and Yamuna. This is Krishna of the Brindavan - ever youthful, his pranks and mischief the delight and bane of Yashoda. The poet sings like he was there - as much a spectator as anyone in Brindavaṇ
